The main objective of this project is to set a stimulating and fast, authoritative, environmental benchmark for the first solar circumnavigation using a unique solar boat with no sails or wind generators or fuels of any kind on board, not even for cooking.

Sources as diverse as main stream television documentaries and, for example, major energy companies (despite, by acquisition, having collectively become the world’s largest solar panel manufacturer) have perpetuated an astonishing amount and range of negative spin against the value of photovoltaics. This has resulted in little, almost insignificant amounts of funding for photovoltaic research, innovation, production and deployment since the 1973 oil crisis.

The neglect of photovoltaics (and related technologies) as the potential major “free” and readily available source of energy for human activity may yet prove to be the single greatest scandal of the 20th, and the 21st centuries.

This has to change !
